Deadman was a nagoya kei act fronted by Japanese musician Mako. Founded in 2000, the band gained notoriety as one of the developers of the nagoya kei subgenre of visual kei (nagoya is often seen to be a "darker" version of visual kei, having its regional focus in Nagoya, Japan). Under Mako, who formerly played with another nagoya act called Kein, Deadman quickly became known for its heavily melancholic lyrical themes, with the music itself touching on alternative rock in sound.

Today the group has disbanded, as of 2007. This was done for unknown reasons (which invariably upset fans of the group), although it is speculated that something affecting Mako's personal life caused the Deadman's members to part ways.
Mako claims himself that sources of inspiration for his music as well as the visuals of Deadman had been U.S. industrial metal act Marilyn Manson. In an interview he stated that, as a child, he listened to such popular rock bands as Motley Crue and the aforementioned Manson.

Deadman incorporates several different types of rock sound, drawing heavily from alternative rock and the traditional styles of contemporary visual kei and j-rock in general. A style reminiscent of hardcore and street punk rock is especially seen as being prevalent, in what is much of Deadman's musical sporadicism. Often incorporated into individual songs are several "movements" that seem to drift back and forth, with irradic vocals and sounds.
Deadman's major themes touch on abstract forms of suffering thought to be a part of Mako's personal life. Religious and particularly Christian references are made often, thought to reveal what is known to be Mako's deep spirituality.

The band has recorded concept albums based on several notable works of literary fiction or folk tales, such as Jekyll and Hyde and Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs Du Mal.

Imi plac mult Deadman, ce rau mi-a parut cand s-au despartit... si acum ca ai postat lista cu albumele, am concretizat ca-mi lipsesc "Endroll" si "Buried Alive by Words". Sper sa le gasesc pe undeva pe net sa mi le iau si eu!! Mamiiii!
